I-EP Three-way Conference | 一场“私人定制”的IB家长会

Growth is a long journey. Parents, teachers and students reach the destination only by going hand by hand. 2023 is coming to an end, we believe that students have achieved some progress and gained a lot, as well as having abundant feelings they want to share. Recently, I-EP has held a "three-way conference" activity, inviting teachers, students and parents to gather together, providing a platform for children to talk freely and share their growth.


成长是一场漫长的旅程,家长、老师、学生是三位同行者,唯有携手同行,才能抵达彼岸。转眼间,2023年的进度条已去到最后一个月,这一年即将结束,相信同学们在这一年里都有所进步,有所收获,心中也有了万千的感慨想要分享。近日,华外创新融合部(I-EP)就举行了“三方会议”活动,邀请老师、学生、家长齐聚一堂,提供平台让孩子们畅所欲言,分享成长。

The three-way conference is a special parent-teacher meeting that has the characteristics of IB. It is a meeting involving the student, parents and each subject teachers, as well as a means for the students to take part in period assessment, with the aim of creating an warm environment of acceptance, affirmation, and trust, celebrating our student's achievements, increasing our understanding of the student's learning process.


Unlike the traditional parent-teacher meeting, in I-EP learning community, each family has its own communication time. This allows parents to truly participate in the discussion of their children's growth, rather than just being a bystander to the teacher's talk.

三方会议是IB国际教育的特色家长会,是在平等的基础上由学生、家长和各学科老师共同参与的会议,也是学生参加阶段性评估方式的一种手段,旨在为学生营造一个被接纳、被肯定、被信任的环境,共同庆祝学生的进步和成就,增加各方对学生学习过程的了解。


与传统家长会不同,在这个学习者社区里,每个家庭都拥有自己的专属沟通时间。这让每位家长都能真正参与到孩子的成长讨论当中去,而不只是做教师陈述的旁观者。

We believe that students are the mainstay of learning and they should be able to share their views on their school life and participate in the earnest dialogue with parents and teachers. During the three-way conference, children have actively talked to their parents about their gains, confusions and joys in school, shared their learning achievements, showed their learning work and reflected what needs to be improved.

我们相信,学生是学习的主体,他们应该能够分享他们对学校学习生活的观点,并参与和家长、老师的真诚对话。在三方会议上,孩子们主动向家长讲述自己在学校中的收获、困惑和喜悦,分享自己的学习成果,展示自己的学习作品,反思有待提升的地方。

Teachers and parents act as "listeners", patiently listening to the children's sharing and giving them some encouragement. We communicated with each other as if we were friends. This way not only exercises the children's ability to express themselves, improves their self-confidence, but also makes them feel "respected" and "valued".

老师和家长则作为“倾听者”,耐心倾听孩子们的发言,并适时给他们鼓励,三方就像是朋友一样地去交流、去沟通。这样的方式不仅能锻炼孩子们的表达能力,提高他们的自信心,还能让他们感受到“被尊重”与“被重视”。

After the students' sharing, the teachers would give some additional explanations on the overall learning situation of the students to the parents, pointed out the direction of their future efforts as well as the improvement measures, and patiently answered the doubts one by one, building up a bridge between parents and school by heart.

在学生们分享过后,各科老师会对学生的整体学习情况进行补充说明,针对实际情况,指出他们今后努力的方向和改进的措施,并对家长的提问和疑惑,一一耐心作出解答,用心与家长架起沟通的桥梁。

Finally, our students, teachers and parents have made the personalized learning goals together according to the children's situation, tapping into the student's potential while fully respecting their opinions. Therefore, students would be able to find suitable learning approaches and make progress at their own pace.

最后,学生、老师、家长会综合孩子的发展情况,在充分尊重孩子意见的同时,挖掘学生的不同潜力,制定出个性化的学习目标,让每个学生都能找到适合自己的学习方式,以自己的速度取得进步。

The three-way conference was a great success, thanks to all the teachers for their careful preparation and hard work, and thanks to every parent who came to the conference for their support and recognition of our work.
